De’Aira Bryant wants to change the lives of the people who most deserve it. A doctoral student in Computer Science and Intelligent Systems, her main focus has been exploring the potential for interactive communication between children and robots.

Kentez Craig grew up in Atlanta with two parents who served as first responders working as paramedics for local hospitals. Now, as a master's student in Engineering, Craig is inspired by his parents as he helps develop and build protective equipment for health care professionals on the front lines fighting the battle against Covid-19.

Astro-Naia: Ph.D. Student Aims for the Stars With Her Research

Naia Butler-Craig has always had a passion for science and engineering. Now a Ph.D. candidate in Aerospace Engineering, Butler-Craig works in the High-Power Electric Propulsion Lab. She balances academics with membership in the NASA Pathways Program.

Alumni Stories: Ignacio Montoya, Master's in Biomedical Innovation

Paralyzed in a motorcycle accident at the tail end of his undergraduate studies, Ignacio Montoya had to alter his dream of becoming a fighter pilot in the Air Force. He changed his major from Aerospace Engineering to Biomedical Engineering. Montoya graduated with a master's degree in Biomedical Innovation to revolutionize care for patients with major spinal cord injuries and uses his own body acts as a laboratory.

After losing her sight due to reginitis pigmentosa at the age of 15, Aditi Shah earned two degrees in India before coming to Tech. She graduated from Tech with a master’s in Computer Science with a focus in cybersecurity — and a goal to inspire blind women in India to pursue their dreams.

Alumni Stories: Joel Jassu, Master's in Architecture

Joel Jassu was born in Banda, Uganda. As Jassu grew up, it evolved into one of the worst slums in the capital city of Kampala. A chance encounter with an American architect visiting the country on a mission trip set him on a course to earning a master's degree in architecture at Tech.
